Natural Fibres
-
Cotton
Cotton is very absorbent and retains its strength when wet.
Linen
Very absorbent fibre with a cool touch. Wrinkles easy and tends to nap, so should not be scrubbed or treated roughly.

Wool
Retains warmth and absorbs moisture readily. Tends to shrink if subjected to friction when wet; needs protection from heat, alkalis, sunlight and insects.
Silk
Known for its sheen, texture and colour. Colours tend to run and scrubbing when wet may cause napping or other damage to the fabric. Like wool, care must be taken to protect silk from heat, alkalis, sunlight and insects.
